What is it?

An inclusive classroom is a general education classroom in which students with and without disabilities learn together.  In an inclusive classroom, all students feel like a valued member of the class community.  School teams use flexible decision making to determine students' individualized education programs that are not based on disability categories.  An inclusive classroom typically has a general education teacher and special education teacher (and other necessary personnel) working together in the same classroom to meet the needs of each child.
